2. Internship and Research Assistantship

Internships and Research Assistantships are for dedicated and motivated students who are interested in language acquisition. Interns and Research Assistants (RA) will be involved and trained in all aspects of research process, including experimental and stimuli design, participants recruitment, data collection, data analysis, literature review, and preliminary report writing.

Requirements:

  • Interns/RAs should have strong interest in working with children, especially preschoolers;
  • Interns/RAs should feel comfortable communicating with strangers, including calling strangers on the phone or talking to strangers face to face;
  • Interns/RAs should be able to contribute at least 8 hours per month during semester and 16 hours per month during vocation.

Other preferable qualifications:

  • English-Chinese bilinguals
  • Good communication abilities
  • Good organization skills

How to Apply:

If you are interested in applying, please send your application materials to  ntu-bdl@ntu.edu.sg with “Summer Internship/Research Assistantship” as the subject. Your application material should include the following:

  • A brief cover letter explaining your interest in the position, experience working with children, relevant coursework, and research experience (if you have prior experience).
  • Resume highlighting your experience working with children and your research experience (if you have prior experience).
  • Unofficial Transcript/degree audit
  • Tentative schedule/plan (e.g., when you can start and how long you can make the commitment to be involved in a study.

 

3. Visiting Scholars

Overseas scholars are welcome to visit the BD Lab and work as visiting scholars for a maximum of 12 months. If you are interested, please send your enquiry and your current CV to ntu-bdl@ntu.edu.sg with “Visiting Scholars” as the subject.

 

4. Visiting Students

MA. and Ph.D. students from other countries can be accepted as visiting students to work in the BD Lab for a maximum of 12 months. If you are interested, please send your current CV, statement of interest, and two letters of reference to: ntu-bdl@ntu.edu.sg with “Visiting Students” as the subject.
